I add Paddle Shifter in my F30.

I had recently installed paddle shifter on my BMW F30 stock steering wheel.
It took them a couple of hours to install inclusive of coding. It was not an easy task and the staff handing it was experienced and gentle with my car.

Experience: How do I say it? Hmm... You can feel sweat under your armpits. Adrenaline rush. (As your hands becomes more active with the paddle shifter.)
Took it for a spin on weekend and the experience is AMAZING! No longer have to rely on the "Steptronic Shifter" when trying to drop gear. Keep 2 hands on the wheel which shifting the gears is a thrill.

Price: Not too bad.
A good price to pay to upgrade the stock steering wheel. A new set steering set with paddle shifter (M performance) would set me back close to $3k.

Thank you for the compliment. You should have seen the Alcantara fabric version. It looked so posch and cooler that this one. Too bad it is another $1.5 k with does not really add any new function to the ride.

But I am happy with this one anyway.

The good thing is I dont. Maybe sweaty armpit. But I will make sure not to wear an Alcantara shirt when driving.

Pardon my ignorance - but I thought the shifters came standard with the F30? Or was it an option some of us paid for without realising it! Lol

Don't think paddle shifts are standard on the F30 ..... Some have some don't have.

The two little paddles comes together with the 2tb sport auto option...some time is standard, some time is option.

2tb also give you the nicer gear shifter stick.

Well depends on driver preference and the road. I had used the stick previously but find it troublesome to shift left to engage semi manual and drop 1 gear. Got use to it but finds it dangerous when travelling high speed on the NHSW.

Its just my way of using that short burst of speed to overtake without pushing the throttle further and in comfort mode.

You won't need it in sports mode as the throttle is really responsive. With the paddle shifter, it just gets easier.

Just my preference really.

Unfortunately my F30 is just sports line and not m performance. Its does not come with a paddle shifter. They give you nice interiors but take away some of the awesome features .

Mine oso sportsline but it came wif the paddle... Mayb diff period of time diff deal... But paddle other then straight road no use... for me..

Paddle shift is only factory fitted on 320i and above. 316i bo.
