How to tell if a M3 mirror has electric folding capability?

I have recently bought a pair of used original M3 Mirror from someone who claimed that it has electric folding capability. How can I tell by looking at the mirror and wiring? Btw, it has a 12-pin connector plug.

I look to some of you bro out there help me out in finding the truth. I have brought them Mike's place from spray painting and he suspect that they cannot fold electrically (but he cannot be sure). Hope I have not been conned!:furious:

I have tried looking for them but there is another housing inside which the motor is suppose to be in. So cannot see.

I already did. He say not sure but like do not have. I not satified and wanted a definite answer. I saw you at his shop today. Btw, nice rims you have there!

Maybe I can use borrow a switch module with folding button to just test it out.

maybe the UK guy doesn't know there is a Electric folding m3 mirror and assume a mirror with heater and can fold means a M3 folding mirror ?

yup2... from what i know... stock M3 w/o folding capabilities just need to install the switch on the car...not the folding module on the mirror..i assume all of the m3 mirror can be folded..i might be wrong thou..

They are 2 different parts and the price is half. The switch module only cost $70.

Any other bros can advice?

bro,when mike spray he need to strip out the motor and spray the casing..so when he strip out the mirrors,you will know whether there is any folding motor...

terry not all m3 mirror comes with folding capabilities leh...dennis's m3 mirrors are manually fold...

I know. Just collected my car. Although I do not mind having one that is not electric foldable but just hate to be cheated! I am going to complain to ebay and paypal!:furious:
