I am keen to start a forum to draw i-savvy uncles like me to join forum like these. Especially those driving X6, 7 and 6 series.

It's like forcing a non-internet crowd (exclusive of age) to participate in an online community. It's just difficult for certain segments, but not impossible.

You can start off with on-the ground marketing (i started off long time ago with members helping us to distribute placards - placing them on people's windscreens etc). Personally speaking, it took a long time, investment into building the right system, time and effort in building the community and camaraderie. Good idea nonetheless.
