Re: How to black-list forumer TRILOGY

This relates to Triglogy selling his handphone number 9 11 66 888.
http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/genera...133-golden-handphone-number-sale-singtel.html

I was on SMS comm with Trilogy at least 5 times yesterday, trying to persuade him that he cannot change his mind like that. But his opinion remains "Sorry, No deal." I even send him a SMS, exact words "May I humbly request you review yr decision before I respond to yr thread." I dunno how to do a screen capture of my phone but I take snap them with my camera and post it here. The story goes like this....

18 Aug. Trilogy listed his phone number for sale.

http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/genera...133-golden-handphone-number-sale-singtel.html

That evening, I responded. These are the message we corresponded over the next two days (not full msg, but words extracted).

mapleleaf: interested in number 9 11 66 888. offer u $388

Trilogy: extract: I am in Indonesia. Will decide when I come back in Sept.

mapleleaf: I want to finalise a deal because I want to buy the iPhone by this Friday. Can you confirm?

Trilogy: I have an offer for $588 already. U $688, I confirm.

mapleleaf: OK. Deal at $688

Trilogy: exact sms: "OK. Confirm then. Just to confirm with u again that the line wiil already by on contract with singtel. Will be able to transfer the line and contract to u. Ok?"

mapleleaf: what plan? how much? how long more?

Trilogy spoke to me on the phone the next day. He said his plan is iTwo something, about forty to fifty dollars per month and that it's a new line, so contract another 24 months. Which means it will add another $1200 to the line. I still agreed to the deal.

mapleleaf: Thank you fr the call earlier. Confirm deal.

Trilogy: Ok. but I may have to use the line for another few months.

mapleleaf: ok. I am not in hurry to use line.

YESTERDAY's MESSAGES:

mapleleaf: I read in the forum that you line has been reserved. Was that reserved for me?

Trilogy: exact words : "Hello, was about to message you to inform you that an offer confirmed at $1068 for the number."

mapleleaf: "May I humbly request you review yr decision before I respond to yr thread."

Trilogy: (deleted msg accidently)

mapleleaf: Sorry Roy. It goes against basic principles of online transactions. I still hve yr msg here where u offered me "u 688, I confirm". Money is not everything my friend. A man's conscience, integrity, trust... We made a deal, we hold to it. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. But we can hold our head up and face e world."

Trilogy: sorry, no deal.

Re: How to black-list forumer TRILOGY

I see the dilemma. I myself have sold brakes at a FAR lower price than offered to me later. The fundamental nature of online peer to peer transactions without an arbiter, is desync. There is no real cut off date, causing all these issues.

The honourable thing to do is of course, to honor one's words. But the temptation to renege on the deal is always there especially in days where money no enough.

Re: How to black-list forumer TRILOGY

Ok so the deal went sour, but you post his phone numbers online because why??

This sort of sh!t happens... life goes on.

Re: How to black-list forumer TRILOGY

but oilman, it's normal for people to share bad experiences, this is the only way to impact one's reputation. Why should a jerk be proof of expose?

Re: How to black-list forumer TRILOGY

Sure man, expose him, blacklist him etc, whatever. But post his phone number? Whoever cut queue to buy his phone number (not me!) is gonna get harassed... it's like taking over an HDB flat from someone who O$P$ :lol2:

Re: How to black-list forumer TRILOGY

i wouldnt want that number now...

Re: How to black-list forumer TRILOGY

you're right about that. the phone number's innocent. anyway i sure think that humans have a short memory span though, unless one enters the number into a wardialer.

Re: How to black-list forumer TRILOGY

theres all sorts of people ard... n in this forum...

my real life example...

one fellow forumer... when i was de-modding my beemer a couple of years ago... reserved a 3 of my stuffs... haggled... at the end... i have to ask back for confirmation... took only one at the end.

he wanted my Alutec CF front struct bar... wanted it fast... i accommodated... drove down to his choice of workshop somemore to dismantle for him to put up later... no payment then...

after fixed on... still no payment...

gave him a few "polite" smsES... he gave the usual blah blah blah excuses... even gave him my account no. to do ATM transfer

i gave up liao... since its been 2+ yrs...heard he changed from beemer sedan to cab to porsche turbo to watever now... luckily it was for less than $200... din n cant be bothered to waste time on him liao... maybe he did transfer the money... but din notice... n i doubt it very much still... nevertheless...
life goes on rite?!!! :lol2:

Re: How to black-list forumer TRILOGY

I believe forum rules dictates that all sales be transparent. There should not be any Ebay auction type of sales. The seller has to display the selling price in his thread
