How to appeal?

I just got a summon for insufficient coupons at east coast park carpark. However, I did put 3 fifty cents coupon and should last me till 6.15pm. However, on the summon, it wrote time expire- 5.15pm. All my coupon was torn at 4.45pm. I think the warden made a mistake and fined me $20.

So I am wondering now how do i appeal??

Make photocopies of your coupon and write in.

Indicate the coupon numbers, and write as geniunely possible and that you will not tear the coupons in such ways again. Usually they will close one eye and waiver off the fine.

I did that the last time since i had coupon woes...it worked. Just be sincere about it.

write a sincere letter like Ryan said, I usually attach a cheque for the fine as well ... most of the time I get a letter saying they'll waive it and the cheque returned....

only once the police decided to keep it regardless of how good an explaination i gave... hahaha... damn those single yellow jagged lines.... i throught it was ok to part from 7pm to 7am ... parked there as a police man was issuing fines to the cars (in the double jagged zone) in front of me.... that was my most expensive supper at lau pa sat to-date.

That's the problem with out-sourcing. These idiots will just simply issue summons without using their eyes or brains.

Anyway, I just found an apeal form on the URA website, think it should be an alternative way to submit an appeal.

I got a lot of model answers, including one that will suit yr current situation[joke]. You need to state the facts, esp if it was their cock up, be a bit bold in yr letter.

Once I kena a summon in geylang where I was accused of parking on double yellow lines. ac tually my car was half in a lot and half outside[where the yellows are]. Why? because some stupid durian seller put some boxes on the lot. I also tore parking coupons anyway. I didnt even bother to write a letter, I called up the tel stated on the summon issued. Gave the person who picked up my call a good lecture and told them i am gonna send a complaint to the biggest-shot in CISCO. I also told them I got witness[durian seller..hehe] . Then they say...ok....just send in an explanation and will waive!

Send in a unused coupon with a simple appeal letter can liao.
