How long is the life of the battery in a E92?

I keep getting faults about "excessive battery discharge" in my E92.

What's the usual life of the battery?

shit happens. my car had a faulty batter at 10 mnths old. luckily its still warrantied b4 the 3 yrs.

send it to PML for a full diagnostics and replace batt if need be.

just emphasise how fugged the battery is and get it replaced. since its coming to 3 yrs i prefer if u got a brand new one. that will last u another 3 yrs

I was wondering if the iPod is draining the bat. Could it be? I leave it connected on the optional iPod cable 24/7.

Unfortunately, my car is as bone stock as you get.

Not the iPod. I have it connected 24/7 as well and my car is coming to 2.5 yr old. Stock as well.

dont bother sending to PML, they cant do anything on HIGH ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE.

Something is sucking power from yr batts overnight. it might be your ipod , or ivac amp,coil booster if u have it.

i beg to differ bro. PML will be able to do a full diagnostics on ur car and determine if any component is not sleeping, thereby draining power. they did it on my previous ride b4 determining battery was faulty.

BMWs nowadays have many systems running... shutting your car doesnt mean all systems go to sleep. Maybe 1 that was supposed to "lights out" didnt as it detected a fault somewhere, hence draining the life out of batt. I suggest you try PML first if you have warranty there.
Happened to one of my Dads bimmer before, could be same thing you are facing... 2 years is considered a while for many things to happen...

Stock battery should last you 4 years if there is no ICE or other battery draining stuff.

Better to check if your ground cable at the back of your car is up to scratch...especially at both ends..
