Why do the sales people at PML say "coop" instead of "coopeh"? I have always pronounced it as "coopeh". Just a thought

"coopeh" is probably how it shld be read based on the word in French but the American calls it "coop" so "coop" it is for some... It's a bit like aluminium/aluminum... I was taught "coopeh" and "aluminium" but I guess there's no right or wrong.

Coupe as in "Coo peh" is UK English while "Coop" is US English. Singlish means anything also can...kekeke

I THINK it comes from the french word coupé, notice the accent on e.

Accent aigu so it should read coo-pay.

Them yanks would bastardize anything into their own pronunciation.

I cringe when I hear 'Porsh'. Is it so hard to say por-sher? Even the ah beng 'por-shay' is more accurate. lol.

I think French is pronounced coop with light intonation of e. Anglo or American ang mor always jo luan..... like Semi Automatic become Semai Automatic....
