Brudder, depends on whether if your car have air-bag or not? If not, then it is easy as peeling off the front and a large socket will do the trick. With air-bag, things can be a little more tricky.

No problem brudder.. you driving same ride as I, 316iM.. kekeke.. have you met up with the E36 guys? Join us now and then. Our group is not too big,.. dying species I guess..kekekeke. We also gather round and pose like models or "whores" around certain carpark once a while..kekekeke but mostly we are checking out each and other rides and compare notes. A few of us DIYs small jobs like CAI, changing lights, pulley, brakes etc. It's good to learn a bit more of the car.

Don't seemed to have encountered much electrical problem, more of poor connection due to wear and tear at the lights sockets. I have most of my fuses changed when I took over the car and I can tell you that they are often culprits to electrical problems. As they are small and cheap, many people tends to forget about them, however, like any other components, they do wear down with time.

Another problem is that your bulb power demand may not match your output. Hence either you buy bulbs that are rated 55W and no more or upgrade your fuse if you put in higher wattage bulbs. Some believe a voltage stabilizer and grounding helps. I have not done either of both but I intend to DIY the grounding when I have time to explore my chasis.
