hi all!

lately my honk has been going off on its own...damn embarassing...happens often especially when i am turning...the honking stops when i tab the honk gently a few times...

i suspect it's the wiring problem...or should i just change the steering wheel.

also while car is idling there seems to be some vibration going on....is it the engine mount having problem?

Re: Honk and Vibration

SWT - if yours does not have airbag, yank out the horn cover that's on the steering and check if the wire is frayed or loosed. Sometime a foriegn object may have cause the "short" while you are rotating the wheel.

Engine vibration can be caused by several factor. However if you do not experience erratic idling, it's often due to the engine mount. If you also experience slight knocking when up or down shifting, pretty confirmed that mounting is worn.

Re: Honk and Vibration

steering honking prob is definitely wiring got prob, most likely a short circuit or something.....easy job, just get the workshop to open the steering middle piece and test the wiring

Re: Honk and Vibration
