Hit-and-run on animals

Last night, I lost my beloved pet cat to a gory hit-and-run accident right outside my house. From the look of the extensive injuries on its head, he didn't stand a chance against impact from the speeding vehicle.

The road is rather small and only allows one-way traffic but I know drivers who speed in bright daylight or in the middle of the night. I plead everyone to drive within legal speed limit in residential areas, not just for the safety of human lives but also for our four-legged friends which are defenceless against reckless drivers.

To the driver whoever you are, you could have stopped to help the casualty or notify primary production dept to pick up the carcass or ring the houses' doorbells to inform. You did nothing. In fact, you scooted off like a coward. This is a life you had taken, no doubt belongs to a cat, but still a life nevertheless. Tell me you have no guilt. I hope you are able sleep well tonight.

Re: Hit-and-run on animals

Sometime last year after having my supper at Jalan Kayu with a friend,as we drove off there was a kitten's body in the middle of the road.As I was nearing it,it lifted up it's head and stare in fear towards my headlights but it couldn't move it's body.I slammed my brakes and pulled along side of the road,my friend picked it up and we started using the internet on our phones to search for a 24-hr vet.Found one that was in Balestier, blasted my way there. The vet still couldn't save it,paid extra for it to have some kind of proper burial.Ended up with a bill of $400 plus.I cannot tell you how sad I was that night even though it was wasn't my own cat.It even had blood coming out from it's ass.The bugger who did it couldn't even be bothered to put it's body on the side of the road, waiting for it to get mashed. My condolences to you.

Coffee on me anytime you want for that.

Kudos! Bigtime.

I have a pet dog - and I would be prepared to break a person's neck if she were in such an unfortunate situation. And I am NOT kidding about this.

Or about the coffee either.

Re: Hit-and-run on animals

I can't put into words the shock and despair when I first discovered him by the side of the road as I drove towards my house. Initially I thought it was a black piece of cloth that someone had dropped. Nearer to it, I saw that little leash around its neck and my world collapsed. It was my worst fear. My mum screamed like a hysterical woman on the street. We lost sleep over him last night. The image of his crushed skull/face and protruded eyeball keeps playing in my head. I hope he didn't suffer too long before his last breath. But judging by the splattered blood in the middle of the road, he could have pulled himself to the side of the road after the impact. I'm sure it must be the most painful 5-10mins of his short life.

To the driver who did this, there are hundreds of things I would want to do you. However it wouldn't bring my Blackie back. I also would never find out who you are but if you have a conscience, say a prayer for my cat and apologise within yourself. Do something good for the rest of your pathetic life, for I believe in the presence of karma.

Re: Hit-and-run on animals

i did hit a dog once, but it was on the CTE and to be fair, i tried to go as much to the side of the road as possible without crashing the car, dog turned towards the car instead of away and most likely a head impact on my bumper. Made the split-second judgement call not to stop nor swerve, nor jam the brakes as it was the CTE and wld endanger human lives. Sucky and painful decision to make but had to do it. Whispered a small prayer for the doggie. No idea what a dog was doing on the E-way

Re: Hit-and-run on animals

I slammed into a bird on NSH, killing it with a splash of blood on my windscreen. That night at genting, I cannot sleep. When I gamble, I lose - Sicbo buy big open small buy small open big......

Since then I ve never had chicken for meal when I am in Msia. This is not a joke.

Amen.

Re: Hit-and-run on animals

I tried to hit and run on a chio bu in a pub once, was bitten badly.

Okay seriously, use your discretion. There is no absolute in this scenario. There was once I hit a moose on highway in Toronto, within speed limit 110. It dashed out and it is either I spun off the road or clipped its hind legs. Car skidded, I got out of the car, saw it hopped off.

Re: Hit-and-run on animals

MOOSE !!! That thing can charge at you !!!

haha starbucks venti can ?I have a pet dog as well as a cat,in my most humble and personal opinion, animals to me are pretty much as innocent as children. But I do agree that sometimes the blame can't really be left on the driver cause different animals react differently to vehicle situations.I personally ran over a rat before and I wasn't speeding. But like the TS said,at least be bothered to do something about it even if it's not your fault.

Re: Hit-and-run on animals

I had a friend who stopped her car to pick up one injured bird from the ground to carry it to safety beside the road, at the same time using the car to shield other traffic from running over the bird.

Unfortunately

it was at the right lane of PIE.

and her little mini got crushed up like an accordian. She told me the story one.

this one how to say?

Re: Hit-and-run on animals
