High Temperature !

My screen indicate "High Temperature !" in red. I hv to drive to the nearest carpark and called BMW road-assistance. They sent some to tow my car to BMW service centre for the night.

Any one has encountered this ? I wonder what is happening to my car. It is 6.5yrs old - time to break ? Mileage is only 65k. I hope it is a false alarm. Repair will be expensive.

Re: High Temperature !

did u have a look at your temp on your car meter guage
could be a radiator or its hoses leak or oil cooler leak....or hopefully a false alarm nia

Re: High Temperature !

I had tht before on my e60. Water pump up the lorry. Damage was around $700.

Re: High Temperature !

Hi SSZONE,
There is no temperature guage meter. Is there one ? If temperature is high, like this case, they will show up on the screen.

BMW service centre can only come back with the diagnosis and quote on monday....very slow in their service.

If they come back with expensive quotation, i may want to consider towing to another service shop to get this repair. Wonder which auto service shop is good to go ?

Hi James,
Hope it is just rubber tubing failure : )...i heard the entire cooling system with pipes, tubes and water pump cost 3000+ to replace....

Very likely the water pump has failed. I received the warning messages intermittently before it failed for good. PML charged about 1.2k I think. If the radiator fan controller also up lorry, then it's another 1k.

Re: High Temperature !

waterpump or thermostat .... 6.5 yrs ??? so long then break? mine gave way at 3 years

Re: High Temperature !

anything given to you to drive will break in less than 1 yr one lah.

Re: High Temperature !

strange - PML diagnosed leaking of radiator, tubing/pipes changes of the coolant system, themosta and water pump. I towed car to a this web site sponsored workshop, they told me radiator not leaking - just change water pump. Maybe PML is kia-su. Decided to do what this workshop recommended instead. See how it goes first.
