Hi! Planning on moving to a Z4 + question

Big Hi! to everyone,

Currently driving a Lexus, moving to a roadster. Pretty much decided on a Z4 - now contemplating either the new one or a 1-2yr old with low mileage.

Qn: I'd really like iPhone integration, with both music and phone function. In a 2008 Z4 without iDrive, what are the some options, incl. PML aftermarket?

I have seen some kits like DICE - are there local shops here who do this?

Sorry to hijack your thread. Just want to check with guys who have driven the new Z4. Do your Hardtop squeak whenever you drive up slope or on uneven road? I drove a 335 cab and it squeaks. I intend to get my wife the new Z4, but worry about the squeak. Anybody can help? Thanks.

i did, no squeeks but some other ratling noise.

trust me even if it does not come in the form of a squeek sound it will be something else. seems like a characteristic of bimmers. plus the fact that our roads aint exactly smooth these days. just ask the F1 drivers.

new Z4 is a great car. get it and if any noises just bring back and ask them to fix the darn thing. no issue

Hi kngsct, welcome, get the new e89 its really nice !

iDrive as an option from PML costs in excess of 10k, for that money personally i will rather do up my car audio, change rims ,etc

sg520 after 3k km mileage no squeaking sound from the car. keeping my fingers cross maintaining that way !

Go for the latest model.

I still cannot forget my recent fling with the E89. It's that good for SG roads.

My current coupe is harsh for daily driving.... (but i still love it for it's own characteristics). Unless you're looking for a M, go for the E89, it won't disappoint with the ride comfort, quietness and latest idrive options. The E85 tech is since 2003. zzzzzzzz

dcs2k, I think you're right - 10k a bit much to pay for iDrive. I think I will forgo. But would still like Bluetooth and iPhone dock. Maybe aftermarket for the latter.

Also, I think I have made my mind up on the E89. It has just has so many things that are better than the previous model.

Comfort Access is quite cool. But I think the PI models usually don't have. Except for Auto Sportique.

I have checked out a few PIs - Jack's seem quite helpful. Any helpful hints here, or one to avoid?

Thanks, ac. This will be my second sojourn with BMW. The first time was back in about 1995 when I had a white 320i (E36?). I enjoyed it then, but I remember it was quite temperamental. I also remember cracking the sump right through the sump guard but that was my own fault. - haha.
