Hi all,

2nd Post after so long... however been enjoying reading this wonder forum and the funny posts by some of the famous guy in here.

I m currently thinking to get a 125i coupe or a 325i coupe.. :juggle:

I like 125i as the styling is unique however I really wonder if I can take it being 8 inch shorter then even my current Japanese car..

I just wonder what is the typical Singaporean image of a 1-series BMW?

Thank you...

Re: Hi Hi - Banana55 reporting

Why bother with what other people think? :)

Just go with what you like.

Re: Hi Hi - Banana55 reporting

Very beautiful lor.. I know..

Any comments on the appearance? I dun really need the higher engine capacity tho...as all of you know.. Char bor is appearance, ta por is performance..

I am a lady.. once a while enjoy overtaking and slight racing with "vios", "hyundai" (no offence please, just some of the drivers pushing me around)

Re: Hi Hi - Banana55 reporting

Welcome to the forum, I wouldnt mind if a chio char bor overtake me in a chio 1 or 3 series.

Re: Hi Hi - Banana55 reporting

If u hv budget for 325, means u have budget for 135. So go for the 135.

Re: Hi Hi - Banana55 reporting

The 1-series does look real pretty! Too bad, I don't get to see them as often as I hope!

Re: Hi Hi - Banana55 reporting

I have people telling me the 1-series gave them an impression of affordability of a BMW... ( Dun wanna be too harsh on this), same way some of them were talking about a Merz A-class...Of course these comments comes from NON-BMW owners... :lol2:

Welcome to the forum banana55.
There are various opinions, and like what sam said, the important thing is that you like it.
For me, e92 can either be:
- strong, mascular, stylish and fierce. If difficult to image, think of Kentonna's e92; or
- Sleek, gentle, swift, etc. Come to the meetup and meet tobynick and his e92. He's a gentleman and so is his car.

If you know them, you will realise that the image of the car depends a lot on the driver himself/herself, e.g. what you wear, the image you potray, your character, etc. How you dress up/mod your car, also makes a difference. So no worries if you like the e92 325, go for it.

125i is also good. Cute and sporty look. It's meant to be shorter than normal sedan, so don't worry about the length (which iscoupe does everyday :lol2: )....

Hence I will say either car also suits you well. (if you are buying a 7 series I will say no...). All my comments from "exterior look" point of view. I didn't comment on the engine, because I know it is 2nd in priority to you.

1-series and A-class looks so different. One is sleek and sporting, the other, errr....cute, petite and family-oriented, to put it nicely.... :p ...ok, from my own personal opinion, it is pretty ugly...:silenced:
I got 1 ex-classmate driving 1-series in this forum, super rich! Always want to treat me to free massage.

I used to call my admin girl Anna Banana too! Do you used to work for me? I had a Brit boss! Haha... Welcome girlie, they all love more girls in here.

IMO, I'd take the 135 in a heartbeat if budget allows and I mean IN A HEARTBEAT. What else can you ask for? You don't have to care about what others think of the car or the brand. Tend to agree with Ryan, go with your heart. Cars are very personal and you need to enjoy driving it.

The E92 is a good looking, masculine car with very sleek lines but whether you like it, it's subjective. And if you need the space, the E90 might just be a good choice. You can find the series codes for BMW cars on Wiki if you're lost in the Es. I love the E81/82 ie the 1 series. Then again, that's just me. Go for a test drive. The handling of Bimmers is just superb and you have to be behind the wheel to feel it.

Seriously, like T6 said, if you have the budget for a 325i but now considering the 1-series instead, might as well go for a 135i.... If you are the sort who enjoys driving, you won't regret it...

mai tu liao, I think you prefer the 1-series, and is only worried about the image or length.
If you see something and you shakes, can't take your eyes off it, sleep also can dream of it, it means you have fallen in love with it. And you will enjoy owning and driving it. So I will say go for it.
Don't worry about what others say. I'm driving an old car too - > 5 years old, weak 4-potter compared to the bigger engined brothers. But I never bothered a bit. Important thing is I am happy looking at my car and driving it!
