Re: Hi all, I m new

Hi ac323 and Benji Ben,

Thanks for welcoming my wif and myself to the community.

My is a 520I, with M-kit fitted, compliment of PML. Also, they have change the i-drive to the same one on the 7-series, also compliment of PML. They also throw in in-build Blue tooth and sports steering wheel. Should receive my baby end Jun in Platinium Grey.

My first Beamer, excited to say the least.

Btw, I am from Pioneer Development & Trading Pte Ltd; dealing in Toner and Ink cartridges for printers, both locally and export; not Pioneer 'the sound system' Electronics.:oooops:

Tks for the info regarding the workshop, will do my rounds this weekend, lol.

As for 18 inch rims, I'll take a rain cheque on that. Higher fuel consumption aside, it'll likely cost another grand extra a set. But you r absolutely rite on the looks part. lol:cool:

Cheers and cheery driving.

Re: Hi all, I m new

Hi Kim,

oh i see.......

you've gotten yourself a good deal.......intall the M5 side mirror to complete the look since you are on M5 kit now. (i supposed yours is the 4 cyc? not the 2.2 litre?)

18ins is nice....19ins will be abit heavy on your ride (the bigger the better)
get the M5 rims...complete the M5 look

happy rims searching..................

Cheers

Re: Hi all, I m new

Hi ac323,

You r rite; 4 cyclinder it is.

Sadly, they only give 16 inch rims, which is why I m looking at changing to a 17 inch set.

18 inch may be a little heavy in terms of consumption, you reckon? And for comfort n quietness, I heard the German made Goodyear tyre is great, wonder if it is true.

Any indication what the trade in price will be if I trade in my new set of 16 inch to a set of new 17 inch at a trustworthy workshop or a rim n tyre shop. :helpp!:

Cheers n have a cheery drive.

Re: Hi all, I m new

Hi Kim,

trading in your 16ins with tyre maybe around S$600 or less.......cause i traded mine (17ins for S$800 only)
i think change 18ins better....consumption not really very high cause it all depending on your driving style and (is it more highway or more city drive?) and most important your right foot.........
16ins and 17ins not much of a difference (speaking from past experience) after changing to 16ins within 1 week i change to 17ins (haha) but that was on my E36, 12 years back.....so 18ins better....as for tyre, lots of choices.....more affordable will be Falken 452 (quite quiet if got noice turn on the radio louder)....if budget allows then Michellin PS, Pirelli or Conti CSC3.......

cheers.......

Re: Hi all, I m new

Hi Kim,

after changing to 18ins i think your acceleration will be abit sluggish (unless you get light-weight rims)......not sure if you are those hungry for more power...............?

if not just keep the 16ins for awhile drive it till the tyre going bald then change.....

Have a feel of the car first.......

cheers

Re: Hi all, I m new

Hi ac323,

Any idea how much to top up if I trade in my 16 to 17, new of course.:ehhh:

How do you rate German-made Goodyear against Michellin PS, Pirelli or Conti CSC3?

Cheers and have a cheery drive

- depending on the brand (if replica then of course much more affordable) difference can be in thousand per rims (replica and original) or go shopping this weekend at Stamford tyre (window shopping first)
why not wait for awhile as some time you may able to find a used set going at a better rate thru this forum.....

- all this brand are ok on local road unless you go track or racing......try getting tyre that can be use on dry and wet weather......

Re: Hi all, I m new

Tks ac323,

Veri helpful tips. Will start window shopping this weekend, both locally and in JB.

Will be looking for orig set, so have to start comparing prices now. Only left with slightly over a mth before our 'baby' arrive.:chinese:

Anyway, you have a great weekend and remember......

Cheers and have a cheery drive.
