Hi KL

U might wan to try Leong Seng Tyres, they carry some redline product. Ask for Kelvin @ 67444280

For those who wants to know the difference between 75W90(with friction modifier) and 75W90NS(without modifier), you can view it here http://www.bimmerworld.com/html/redline-gear-oil.htm

Re: Help: Redline Gear Oil

From what I see this Redline is an oil to be used in your diffs. Can they be used as a tranny or clutch oil?

u gotta see the oil specs required by the tranny (manual) or clutch. normal car gearboxes uses 75W90 gear oils with GL4 or GL5 rating. If the oil specs meets wat the is required by the box, then they can be used. of course synthetics r recommended due to high temp and load. ;)

KL,

This is not a Redline bashing post, just sharing my personal experience. I used redline MTL gear oil on my previous WRX tranny before. The shift quality became so bad that I had it drained almost immediately after I reached home from workshop.

My M coupe LSD was screwed before even reaching home from workshop after puting in HKS LSD oil. Many current cars use proprietary oils in their tranny, ATF in particular. Cars like Mitsubishi, Toyota and BMW have to use their OE ATF.

One good gear oil I've used is Mobil 1. It's 75W90 and GL5 compliance, so it should be suitable for LSD.
