hi all bros,

im driving a e60 520i 2005 version, previously when i go thru humps, there isnt much problems,

lately when i go thru humps esp steeper humps, my tyres always brush against the body of the car like very soft springs due to age?, it looks as tho my springs or my absorbers are old n need replacing as they are getting soft??

qn is should i change springs or shd i change absorbers?

i change new tyres recently and im on 235/40/19 front, and 235/35/19 rear

thks to all

Re: help!! on some noise in car....

does that happen after you changed ur tires?

and what tire size were u running previously?

why are u using 40 profile front and 35 profile rear? on the same sized non staggered rims? tire shop idiot?

Re: help!! on some noise in car....

after tyre change got worse.... but b4 that, felt that the front suspension set up abit soft already.... i reckon i shd change something... just that not sure issit the spring or the absorber.

im on staggered rims....yea

Re: help!! on some noise in car....

change the full suspension....maybe ur engine mounts wear out too...

terry bro, i thought i was bad... ha ha...

sidewinder, are the rims both 8.5 front and rear? if yes, then they are not staggered.
it's very very very odd to have front 40 and rear 35, should be the other way around.

what were your previous rim and tyre dimensions?

cheers

Re: help!! on some noise in car....

thks bro edlms....

i better go check after u n terry say the same thing... so am i right to say that it shd always be smaller profile front n bigger rear?? i get the idea that this is the correct set up logically n in common sense.. bu i tot i better leave it to the experts as im not tech savvy... turns out im right!

my rims are staggered in a sense that it is deeper behind n not as deep in front.....

im on acs type 4....

thks to all again!

Re: help!! on some noise in car....

bro sidewider... whats ur previous tyre size?

whats ur rim size?

bear in mind.. if you are using same width like 245 all round... u dont need to have different profiles...

the reason u want different profiles is when u are using wider tires in the rear ...

eg. 245/35 and 275/30 ( which means sidewall thickness will be 35% of 245 and 30% of 275...which falls to be about the same...)

if you are using staggered rim... like 8.5J front and 9.5J rear.. then YOU SHOULD have staggered tires....

if you are not using staggered rims ( same all round)... then use same width and same profile tires for both front and rear...
