Help: How to align Xenon Lights

Hi,

Understand from some discussions that HID lights are normally angled towards the left for RHD vehicles to prevent unnecessary glaring of on coming traffic from the opposite direction.

Is this true? If so, how should I adjust the bias towards the left. Or can I simply focus it into the center. My is retrofit and hence does not have auto levelling.

For owners with factory fitted xenons, pls enlighten me if it is really true of such xenon beam alignment on your vehicles.

BTW, I noticed a yellow knob behind the light cluster of my E46 oem xenons. Any idea what is its purpose?

Just want to ensure that I do not compromise the safety of fellow road users.

Thanks v much.

Reviving an old question... does anyone know if this is true? I just took over a set of Xenons and something tells me they're not pointing in the exact same direction.

confirmed it's true. By law, EU arrangement. If UK car, have to tape the headlamps black partially on the left side 1 inch to avoid glaring

Thanks, I can always count on you guys!

To be honest it's giving me a small headache after two days of driving... I seem to be perpetually driving on an uneven road. Will get used to it :)

Re: Help: How to align Xenon Lights

for rhd cars.

go into a dark carpark at night and switch on headlights (low beam).

you'd find that the right beam is slightly lower than the left one.

and i thought there was something wrong with my lights until the mechanic enlightened me some years ago...

drift838 - Good on you. If only there were more modders like yourself who took on a bit more personal responsibility when they mod their cars. All too often, it is simply a matter of "I like the look" or "I like the sound" and bugger what anybody else thinks. Half of the idiots out on the road with aftermarket "xenon" lights probably haven't even heard about self leveling lighting systems. They give everybody else with proper xenon lights a bad name.

Re: Help: How to align Xenon Lights

Chikan very sensitive about his proper xenons i see

Re: Help: How to align Xenon Lights

Chikan need plenty of light to do their work.

Otherwise I'd have to feel my way around in the dark.
