Help: Can't transfer music from USB to iDrive....

Hi to all,

Just collected my M3 last week. My first bimmer..... after 10yrs on the road, very HAPPY abt it. Like what all the seniors on the forum said abt the m3. Siok..........

Then, I started to play with the iDrive. I can't seem to transfer songs from my USB thumb drive (SanDisk- cruzer). I can play songs under "external Device". When i follow the steps as per the user manual, from "music collection"-----> "options"----->"import songs". The iDrive prompts me to insert the usb, when its already there.

Now iDrive can play songs from my usb, but can't transfer to harddrive....

Pls advice.

I think your mp3 files need to be on the root directory of your USB thumb drive.

That was what i thought so too. formatted my thumb drive, dump all the files in the root directory.....so msg again.....

but thanks for the tip. Oh where did i go wrong. what step did i miss out......

Is there another USB port somewhere near your glove compartment? I transfer my files with that port.

iirc, updates, backup, copy of music etc must be done through glove box usb port, coz I had the same problem before.

Sorry bros, lets back track abit. The glove box is the one in between the the seats or the one in front of the passenger seat.
