Hi all

Just signed for a new 318i from PML.
Took their 21k overtrade discount with standard freebies (windows tint, 3M mat). Not sure if i could have gotton more but i got a good price on my old car so quite happy.

Just want to check , i see many pple referring to the different makes here by their model numbers like E60, E40 etc. Am i correct to say 318i is E30??

Anyways, nice to be here 8)

Congrats and welcome in.....

E30 is a 1 of the much older BMW variant ( classic )
yours is an E90 for (Sedan), E91 (Touring), E92 (Coupe) and E93 (Convertible).
E60 is previous 5 Series, current 5 Series is F10....next 3 Series is F30.

Been surfing around the forum past 2 days.

been thinking about putting in a screen and reverse camera when i get my car. Any recommendations? been looking around and seems that isn't a good aftermarket option for 3 series with no idrive (i.e no existing screen)

Also tempted by the ECU remap by Boss wife is worried abt warranty though.
anybody did the remap and went back PML for servicing already??

Hi Surge,

why not just have the car run-in and enjoy it for the time being first..........mod can always come later.........................

of course when you mod any parts ( that part warranty will be void )

True also...
the reverse camera is for purely practical purposes though...
My wife is not so great at parking, and after seeing a reverse camera in my friend's honda thinks its a great idea.
I dont mind it as long as can keep existing head unit and not have to mod to much things.

the ecu remap probably wun do till warranty over...

my model only comes with the standard kind of beep beep rear sensor . When things are closer then beep faster etc
having a reverse camera to see exactly whats behind when reversing sounds good. Would be good for me too since will probably be playing music from my IP4, so having a screen would allow me to see what sounds I am playing?? anyway, thats just my thoughts. Wanted to find something that would fit nicely into the stock center panel but doesnt seem to be any..

Sprint Booster help make your ride for better acceleration although there's no power gain.
Is a plug and play device.

if you are a person who has high concern on warranty, better don't touch the stock HU unless you install a 1 or 2 DIN aftermarket HU on the dashboard. if you replace the stock disc player with aftermarket HU that has reverse camera functionalities, your entire OEM HU warranty is voided and this is abit complicated because i was told that a lot of stuff from the OBC is linked to stock HU. don't give PML an excuse that when your car got problem, it's due to the stock HU being replaced and mess up the OBC.
