hi everybody,

Bought a E36 last month and happen to find out about this web site. Would like to come for the meet up this sunday and make some friends to get some advise on maintenance of the car as all my friends say I crazy as BMW maintenance is very high !!

E36 maintenance is not as scary as ppl made it out to be.....i had the same worries as yours before i bought mine. i'm also driving a E36 318i. its just the usual wear n tear plus the occassional mods. Mods-wise, its not as fantastic or varied like jap cars but its in a class of its own.

maintenance wise or whatever u could always post your questions here before going to a workshop or accessory shop. its all thru trial n error that we learn...hehe.....i'm a budget e36 driver by the way, maybe with the occassional modd-ing bug....muahahaha :screwedu:

The only downside abt our cars is our fuel consumption, but that is more than compensated by the safety of beemers. i had an altis bumping into me from behind, i only got a small scratch on my bumper while the altis bonnet had gone in......talk abt safety man

thanks for the info.

However, when you say the fuel consumption is high, I find that it is alright as compared to the corolla 1.6 I drove before (around 10km/ltr) the change into the e36 316i. I get 11km/ltrs. How about your 318i ?
