smoke screen, could be. but we can give PML the benefit of the doubt. talk and discuss with them on what's taking so long and how they can aid you in expediting your delivery.
homologation is basically getting the first unit of that type of car registered and recognised in singapore. mostly for safety, pollution, suitability for local roads, etc. A big company like PML shouldnt have any problems homogating their cars especially when they are doing one brand new model every few months, and since they are a legit main dealer.
i would suppose the MCC Smart and the Pagani Zonda to have raised a few eyebrows and maybe taken more time, but manual Z4 taking 3 months is shits.
That said, i have also heard of the first unit of manual 330i taking too damn long to get registered. so yours may not be the only case.

Definitely strange,....The Sales person is trying to buy some time off you by not explaining things clearly hahaha...

i took Racebred's advice and gave PML the benefit of the doubt this time. i called my sales rep for a clarification and the story is this:
she initially said march because she thought BMWAsia had assigned a dec/jan Z4 production slot to PML but it turns out that they've been assigned a feb/mar slot instead. therefore car expected to arrive later.
also, she clarified that homologation will take 1 mth max, so it seems the delay is due to the later production slot, therefore, even if i had ordered the standard steptronic, i'd expect a may delivery anyway. :thinking:
at that point, i was about to erupt liao, but then i took a look at my sales agreement and it said "requested date of delivery, (refer to clause 2.1)". clause 2.1 basically states that PML will strive to meet my requested date but is not contractually obliged to.... so like that lor, sit at home and suck thumb. :|
i've asked her to speak to management to see if there's anything they could do to squeeze me into an earlier production slot as june's a bit too late; she said she would try her best and get back to me next week as they're all pretty busy now.... :| so again, sit home and suck thumb... moderators: we should have a suck-thumb smiley....
why on earth did i have to fall in love with the Z4... or bmw for that matter?? :verysad: by the time the car arrives, the Z4 will be 3-4mths away from the valvetronic introduction, meaning i only get to drive for half a year before my resale value will take an immediate hit. KNN.
