Hello guys

Hello guys... I do not own a BMW yet but I am thinking of getting a BMW 320i or 323i, preferably one that left 3-4 yrs. I do see a lot of 320i in the market but most of the 323i are left with 2yrs+, so I guess most probably I will end up getting a 320i instead.
Anyway, I heard many horror stories on BMW about frequent breakdown, but there are also people who told me that their BMWs do not have much problem after driving it for 6-7 years. So I am very skeptical about this. Should I just get one and don't think so much about it?

Re: Hello guys

Heng suay one lah.

I met a young virgin before, girl-next-door type, I thought sure nap-shot-curry-pok, girlfriend material. Skali lots of personality and character issues.

I have also dated a divorcee, twice somemore. High mileage, high depreciation, I thought. Skali she delivers. Heaven on earth. Song song go Joo Long.

Re: Hello guys

Haha... Nice replies from you guys. I also think that getting a second hand car really depend on heng suay... Currently still hunting for one :)

Unlike finding a girlfriend, the process of finding a good used car means you need to send to a reputable workshop to check - what has broken and what potentially will break soon.

Re: Hello guys

When in doubt, buy new... And hope for the best. Pls pm MW for contact and rates if it doesnt go well.

Maybe for second hand cars in general. But buying a second hand BMW is idiot-proof. You just need to get a specialist to assess the car. 99.9% don't, or they get conned by workshops saying they are BMW specialists. That's why they end up spending a bomb on repair bills and scream CCB BMW.

Myself included in the past.

Re: Hello guys

Happy can already .... Buy buy buy and be happy ...

Think think think too long is not good for brain ...

Re: Hello guys

Noob question, do the car dealers allow potential buyer to send the car for check before committing to buy? I guess most of them don't allow. If I have test drove a car and really like it, which workshop do you guys recommend for full checkup? Heard that R2D and Juzz for cars are good... Any particular one which is the highly recommended workshop?

I've never buy a 2nd hand car before so I'm a little worry. COE prices are still high so I don't wanna commit in getting a new car yet.

Send to R2D for a check lah.

Re: Hello guys

If the dealer dont allow you to pay for a pre-purchase at a workshop of your choice, walk away.

Re: Hello guys

With dealers now doing consignment sales to circumvent lemon law, my 1st qn would be warranty how and if yes, warranty by who?

If warranty is by some ah beng workshop, then say u wanna go ur own WS to inspect car. If cannot, follow Vansoh's advice.

if no warranty, then walk away. I think it's better to buy direct from an owner u know or is known for taking care of his/her car. I not saying me but yes I am one of them...

U want peace of mind n dun mind paying higher prices, go to PPSL.

U want cheap n good n have best PML type warranty, I would advice you to go find a spider and copulate with it. Maybe u will get lucky n become Spider-Man

The only person who will copulate with a spider is Mary Jane Watson.

Re: Hello guys

Gwen Stacy was 1st. Didn't become spider woman

Re: Hello guys

Haha... This brand really Bring More Worries to people huh. Anyway, been driving for the past few days, FC is around 10.2km/l if it's mostly on highway. FC will drop to 9-10km/l if it's in city driving.
