Hello Guys - I need Help

Hi

I am monique and just took delivery of the 320i
I am sure you have heard this before but I am having problems with my ipod
The car has idrive and a usb slot in the armrest.

I plugged in my 120 and 30 gb ipod and idrive does not display tracks, playslists etc. What is displays are contents of the ipod (like its reading a hard disk)
it shows ipod folders and folders and songs comes in numbers and not names of tracks

A friend brought along an old 4gb ipod and it worked fine, no problems at all.
Its seems to be a compatibility issue, idrive cant read ipods running on itunes 8 and above...? or can it?

Looking for advise/help/inputs....
what ever i can get......

Hi Monique welcome to the forum.

yes its entirely possible. its just like mobile phones with micro SD cards. some phone softwares are not compatible to detect storage devices that are high in storage capacity. as u put it, compatibility issue.

by the sound of it, ur stereo shld be fine.

Hi Monique, i believe you are using a normal ipod usb cable for the connection? If the idrive is anything like the 7 series, then you will need the bmw ipod y-cable, which plugs into both the aux (for the audio) and usb (for the data). Hope this helps.
