Hello from Laos...

I'm wondering if I'm the only member from Laos? In any case, I'm pretty glad I found this forum. Tried finding forums closer to Laos, but didn't have much success since I can't read Thai very well.
Why did I choose to join this forum?
I hope gain insight and information in regards to my E60 M5 and other BMW models, and also hope to be able to contribute any knowledge I may have to the forum.
Well, here are some pictures of my M5... It's actually somewhere in the Pacific Ocean right now..ETA Bangkok July 15...in transit to Vientiane, Laos ETA: July 20. Can't wait.:)

Re: Hello from Laos...

hi there. very nice ur M5. i would choose the color too if i can afford one.

how much does it cost to get one of these beauty in ur country?

Re: Hello from Laos...

Hitmee,
Definitely not as much as your country... Doesn't it cost US$300K+ in Singapore..... ouch. I think Laos is still the last place in SE Asia to buy cars for a reasonable price. I bought mine for about $138,000. The way I see it... better buy now cuz 5 years from now I won't be insane enough to buy it for $430,000 like in Thailand.

Re: Hello from Laos...

welcome to the forums! that's such a sweet sweet beautiful ride!

Re: Hello from Laos...

Hi,

Welcome. You bought the car from US judging from the LHD, price and the stick shift? :)

Re: Hello from Laos...

Yup... US Spec. Contemplated on getting the SMG, but felt it just wasn't driver interactive enough. I love the excitement of kicking the clutch and shifting them gears. I also have a GL450 with the triptronic gear behind the steering wheel...never use it to manually shift gears... it's so boring.
As for the price I quoted earlier... US$.

Re: Hello from Laos...

sweet ride, congrats...

obviously the king could also always afford, by mere fact that he is the heredity ruler, just that he doesn't smile, and also, the new generals kings would probably be able to afford too since they got a stronger hold on power now.

Thaksin could afford even before he made PM, thank you.
