driving a 01/2008 523ixl, noticed that there are ring burn marks on the plastic cover of the headlights. The plastic case housing the fog lights are also "blurred". Wonder can I claimed against PML? QC issue?

Hope someone can enlighten.

Re: Headlights & fog lights

the ugly marks on headlight cover is common problem. NO CURE!
don't think pml will change for you because this 100% fit into their tagline THAT'S NORMAL !

wash yr windscreen with headlight turned off... end of problem..
also if you insist ..can clean yr windscreen at >100kph.. headlight ineffective in this speed as well..

Re: Headlights & fog lights

It's a common problem on almost every E60, including mine. Read in this forum some time ago that some guys went to pml bang table and they did replaced the lights under warranty for them. But same problem come back again after a while. So might not be worth the time and effort to get them replaced though claimable under warranty if you bang real hard.

Though the problem may recur, but at least I got a new pair?

If you don't mind going to PML to bang table, leave your car there for a couple of days, then yes, you should get a new pair.

For me, I don't think it's worth the time and trouble of banging table, knowing that the 'rings' will appear again after a couple of months. I think if you don't bang hard enough, they won't change for you.

Happy banging!!!

I find it real tiring talking to the ppl there, so no banging for me, and that's why I still have the 'old' lights with the ugly rings....

I think if you make your stand and tell them that you're serious about your claim, and you won't take their "it's normal" BS, they'll give in somehow eventually, I hope!

Can give good advice on other types of banging though, haha!

Thanks, I'll try to bang and update my banging experience.
