hi all...this time really one headlight. One of my headlights blown apparently. Besides PML, where else can i fix ? thanks.

buy one off the auto supplier and DIY..:p.. saves u the hassle of going back to pml..not to mention a few bucks..:)

Don't try PML. They charged me about $32 to change a blown brake light bulb when my car ( E46 ) was there for routine servicing last year. You can buy one from petrol stations for $1.

Blown headlights are very easy to change.
just buy the right bulbs - the 5 and 3 series use the H7 bulbs. its 55W.

take the opportunity to upgrade to whiter lights as well.
Can easy help you replace bulb if you work near Raffles place,

altreality,

Thanks man... i think i shud try do it myself, but jus need some tips, but i will try figure out. Any particular kinda white lights u reco ?

Hi,

There are some previous discussions re:bulbs.
Most bros use either blue visions or diamond visions...
There are also bulbs sold at autobacs....dunno brand - cheaper...

some people use it with not probs as well

altreality,
slight problem...i cant seem to be able to put back one particular bulb holder... may try again, but in case i cant...

btw, i havent manage to get the bulb. Went to autobacs, and another car shop...both sold out. I only wanted a normal replacement kind, any idea where else might have it ?

When you give yourself this kind of nickname, this kind of thing sure happen one. Lucky you are not called ThreeWheels.

read the bmw manual. inside should have the specs of all the necessary bulbs, and instructions. just follow it will do.

Hi oneheadlight,
One of my bulb fused during the last trip to Malacca. Some of the experienced members (Eric, Wee Hion) helped me to swap it with the high-beam bulb and I've learnt sortta how to do it eversince. As you may have noticed, each bulb holder has a rotating ring clasp around the holder. There're indicators (1 for lock, 0 for unlock) imprinted on the edge. Turn the ring to "0" first before fitting it in, then turn the ring to lock the holder. It's good to have a torch nearby so you can see where the grooves are. I had a hard time putting one of them in initially. Apparently, I pushed the holder much harder than I needed to, into the light bracket, so the clasp couldn't lock until I almost gave up and gave a light twist.....

As for the purchase of the normal bulb. I reckon you need not go to any specialised workshop. I had mine replaced when I went past a Caltex petrol station which provides servicing/tyre replacement. They had a look and immediately knew what bulb was needed and replaced it for me. About $12 for 1 german bulb.

Puny,

its actually pretty simple i know...i took out all four out of "hao lian"..but jus seem to have prob putting back one. Maybe like u said, i push harder than i need to..haha.. some like it hard, some like it not as hard...

how come some say $1 some say $12 ? wa...german car must use german bulb ?

Kekeke... No need german bulb!!.. But that was all they had so just took it.. :ehhh:
