Re: "Hard" brake pedal in the morning - E90

same here. no problems. just step harder shld be able to start.

perhaps some of the more technically inclined bros here can shed light on this issue.

something wrong with the fluid pressure?

Re: "Hard" brake pedal in the morning - E90

If you do not start the car, there is no vacuum assist for the brakes therefore the brake pedal is harder. Once you start the car, you will realise that the brake pedal will "sink" in.

And the thing is you need to depress the brake pedal in order to start the car, so you just have to step harder to start. I get that once in a while too

Maybe sometimes too much action the night before, so legs a bit weaker.

Just step harder bro! Its quite common actually. Dad owns an E60...

Maybe someone snuck into your house...

And installed a BBK for you whilst you slept.

Hi Guys,

I had this problem too. I know that there is a BMW Technical Service Bulletin on this matter. (I saw it somewhere on the E90post website courtesy of a fellow forumer here , I have a copy somewhere just need to find it)

Drop me a PM, once I get my hands on it, I could scan a copy and mail it to you.

yes, its a common fault. Some valve thingy

If I remember correctly from the E90post, it is a known problem and you ought to send in for servicing, which is covered under waranty, if applicable.

Thanks all for the insights....but is it a "problem" or is it "normal"?...if its "common"...since BMW is aware of this (see "GUNSHIP" post)...and still affects the 3 series...this seems to be a quality issue...
