Really dumb story.
Bought a gruppe m intake. Got it installed. Always wondered what's with the sound.
Everyone says it sounds great. The car would breathe more. Personally, I don't hear it nor feel it.
Then one day, I decided to service the filter myself. Took it apart and realised that the CAI was pointing away from the intake boot. Couldn't see that earlier as most of the view was obscured by the kevlar horn structure. So all the while the air going partially around the CAI instead of through it. Got my tool kit out and got it adjusted to point it at the intake boot.
Along the way, I decided to bend the air scoops a couple of degrees. By using the light from a torch, I looked from the air scoop to the intake boot to gauge the intensity of light permeating through assuming that more light would probably mean more air.
The car sounds better. Finally.......
