Hello people!
As quite a few of you know, I haven't been taking good care of my paintwork on my car since I collected my car from PML. Well, being lazy is one thing... Petrol station car wash is my usual place to get my car cleaned once every 2-3weeks hence the swirl marks & blurring of the top coat by improper polishing (only once with a lousy groomer).
So one day, Rod (Yendor-UM2) gave me a call and asked me to come down to try out their grooming service. I took the plunge and went down last weekend to see if Rod can "save" my paintwork.
Paintwork - Before (Swirl marks & waterspots galore!)
It was really a mess and I think Rod was secretly shaking his head! Hahaha! Well, what to do! Rod had my car washed, shampooed and claybared with Meguires products and dried. That took 1-2hrs just to get as much dirt removed as possible.
The next step was to remove the deep swirl marks, watermarks, faded clearcoat and whatever paintwork defects that my car accumulated over the course of 1 year via SONUS SFX-1 product and a rotary machine. This SFX-1 is a slightly coarse liquid which helps to buff off the defects. Then, SONUS SFX-2 was used with a dual action orbiting/rotary machine to improve the surface of the paint and remove the fine swirl marks that may be left after the coarse cutting of SFX-1.
Immediately after the application of SFX-1 and 2, I went to take a photo of the paintwork and lo and behold... Kim kim goot goot!
Most of the swirl marks/stains/watermarks/etc are gone, allowing the metallic flakes to "pop". And that's not the end of it. Rod proceeded to seal the paintwork with Klasse AIO and Sealant, which is applied with a obiting machine as well. Rod used 1 coat of AIO and 2 coats of sealant to maximise depth of shine.
And the final icing on the cake is to have Rod manually apply ZYMOL concours wax which contains 51% carnauba wax onto the front fenders & bonnet to give it a extra wet look! *Rod does look sexy in them shorts - Phil said one!*
End of the day and my car looks like this!
And even my CF boot "pops"!
Before i left, Rod told me that everytime I bring the car in for a wash, he will be washing it with Meguires products and then re-seal my car with Klasse sealant.
I tell ya, the transformation is amazing! From a dull, blurry paintwork to a paintwork that rivals the 1st day that u collect your car from the dealer. I'm so stoked!
UM2 definitely got my stamp of approval! Not only u can get ur car serviced or modded, u get grooming services as well. Hanging out with Rod, Darryl, Nadia, etc is equally fun too! Just to get your ears plugged when Rod starts poisoning u on the mods that u can do to your car! Hahaha!
