Roasty didn't tell you about his experience trying to buy parts from a shop in KL? hehehe...

Re: greetings from kl

got lah, but that it called protectionism.

when you want to make TV commercials for airing in malaysia, there is the MIM 'made in m'sia' rule. shows that the govt wants the money to stay in m'sia.

so when you buy mods from m'sia, you will have also have to install in m'sia.

that's y i was hoping to get a few assignments in m'sia. drive up north, leave car in workshop, do my stuff, and by the time i m done, car is ready for collection.

I think Roasty might not have been so pissed off if they had quoted the same price with or without installation. But quoting a higher price for buying without installation - that must be a world first.... :lol2:

Sounds like the mods/parts are there to drive the installation and service business...so maybe they sell them at a lower margin and make it back on the installation. But it is an interesting pricing model....
