GPS receptivity

Hi,

Anyone encounter any problems in the receptivity of the E90 LCI garmin GPS in areas like CBD where theres many skyscrappers?

For mine, my GPS satellite position is always screwed up.. seems like the GPS cant decide my exact position. I know its definitely due to the poor satellite reception due to blockage caused by the surrounding buildings..

Just wana check if anyone is experiencing the same thing?

Re: GPS receptivity

a. take a long time to position
b. delay/lagging in voice navigation .... breaking up instructions

Re: GPS receptivity

Try a Gilsson Amplified External GPS Antenna. I am using one on my current garmin and found that acquiring the GPS signal is faster. I remember doing some testing when i first got the antennae but i forgot the numbers already.

For the other problem of the GPS going crazy in areas like Shenton way..thats normal. Any consumer grade satellite GPS navigation would encounter the same thing. What happens is signal distortion from the GPS signal bouncing off all the tall buildings before it reaches your car. Other location tracking methods like cell-base station based (e.g. iphone) dun experience this because it determines your location by the cell base stations.
