Hi all,

All my 4 rims have got badly kerbed, so I am thinking of repairing them, may I know how long do they usually take to repair 4 rims, how long do I have to leave my car iwith them?

Anyone has got any recommendation for a good workshop, and lastly, what's the price to pay for the repair of 4 rims?

Thanks a lot!!!

Vince

I got M166 rims repaired at paint shop - good as new after sanding, putty & spray paint....

Some rim shops repair scruffed rims either by grinding down or by sanding/putty/paint. Latter method is better and wil work for paint coated rims. I use this paintshop for minor paint jobs and thought they should be pretty good for rims too and i was proven right! 2 rims for $70. Was quoted $50 per rim by Leong Seng Thiam Kee rim shop which was recommended by others. Don't know how long it too for rims but took them entire day to respray my bonnet on the same visit.

Hi again Vince,

You may wanna check out another thread on rim repair: http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/suspension-brake-tyres-rims-section/21475-chrome-rim-repairs.html

If your rims are just badly scruffed, its ok to get them repaired but if the damage is more serious with deformation/cracks, then you better have them replaced for safety.

Good luck!

TGIF!

Oh, mine is only scruffed, not bent or cracked... I am changing my ride end of this year, so just wanna touch up the rims, just can't stand the current look of my rims.

But thanks for your help!

Re: Good workshop to repair rims?

Do this guy at Blocck 3007also spray a layer of the clear-coat?

Once resprayed this way, will it last another year or two?

Re: Good workshop to repair rims?

Yes they did.. you can't discern any difference where was repair and where is original. The rims look spotless. I don't know how durable the repair will be though.. time will tell or touch wood.. perhaps until the next kurb rash happens when my wife drives the car...
