Dear Bros/Sis,
I believe a lot of you would have changed an air con compressor throughout your ownership of the car, be it a BMW or other marques.
There may be some tips from some of the technical gurus in this forum, that can be shared as good practices for us to try prolong the lifespan of our car's air con compressor.
To start with, I would like to seek advise on whether to switch off the air con (or at least the "A/C" button) when we are putting a heavy load to the engine; I.E. revving the engine to almost the redline. Let's say you decided to have some fun along an empty highway, and revving the engine to the redline for a good few minutes. Is it a good practice to switch off the aircon, so as not to subject the air con compressor to such unnecessary high load? Does it matter? Would it hurt the compressor if you subject it to such high loading?
TIA.
