Good Brake Pads to recommend...?

Hi folks,

Any good brake pads to recommend...?

The current stock brakes are pissing me off... 3 days is all it takes to transform my silver rims to british black.

Appreciate if anyone can recommend less dust and effective brake pad. Thanks in advance.

Regards

LOL... Yes Stock Brake pads are like that.

I had to wash the rim EVERYDAY.

Heard Cool Carbon Brake Pad helps.

Am on Hawk HPS in my E60...low dust on my silver wheels, but the brake feel is not better than stock, and I would not recommend this for track.

Look on bright side, the brake dust on the rims gives the car a fiercer look...

wow! i admire ur enthusiasm. ur wife reprimand u for not spending enough time? hehe

if did not rain, why not just wash rims on alternate days and full car wash once a week? hows ur parking environment like? open air?

Bros....

Cool Carbon & Hawk Preformance. (Which is better, in terms of braking efficient?)

Whats the price range like? Anyone can advise?

Btw, its not so much on the rims that turns 'British Black'... its actually the carbon dust and road tar that sticks on the white paint. !@#$%^&*

TOUGH to wash off... if rub too hard, it just smear into the white paint. Anyone facing the same problem as I do? Any tips or advise to maintain white car. (This is my first white ride, the previous rides I had was in black. Am novice in maintaining white car)

Regards.

Mine workplace carpark is beside a Concrete Mixing plant. So, very dusting on car body by end of each day. While the Rim is always Blacken by the Famous OEM Brake dust.

Home is ok with my own car porch. Water tap just beside so simply spray with water and clean away water. Easy. :p

Few months ago when I enquired, Cool carbon brake pads is about $5xx.

I'll probably change to Cool carbon brake pad after my stock brake pad expire.

Re: Good Brake Pads to recommend...?

Stock is better. Most E60 stock is Jurid. Can try another stock brand, Textar.

Harder pad will have less dust but at the expense of higher rotor wear.

Re: Good Brake Pads to recommend...?

Hi all

I am driving the 523i and the front brake pads seem to be wearing out (warning sign appeared).

I am thinking of going to workshops to fix brake pads instead of going to PML. I have a few questions that i need to ask.

1. Since the car is still under manufacturer warranty, will changing of brake pads void that?

2. As it's well known that the stock pads emit a lot of brake dust, I am thinking of changing to something that emits less brake dust. From the above posts, it seems Textar and Hawk are alternatives. Any comments on this and where do i find these brake pads?

3. SInce the brake pads are linked to the on board computer, will the external workshops have the expertise to reset the warning after changing the brake pads?

Thanks in advance. Sorry for the newbie questions cos I am not that much a car person

Thanks

Jeff
