Golf Lessons Anyone?

Like the thread says,

To play golf on golf courses you need to have a PC (Proficiency Certificate).

This is a package course that consists of 10 lessons and you will be given a PC at the end of the thing.

Prices usually range from $400+ to $750 depending on the number of people.

But I manage to get a power lobang which should be around $250 +/- for a group of 6.

If you are interested in getting your golf license, either email me or reply here ba.

I'll be joining the class too~ the coach will be an australian coach and the place will be at keppel country club.

Re: Golf Lessons Anyone?

yes, sadly...

phil, ask about the green fees...

advice: sit in chair first, get ready to fall off...

Re: Golf Lessons Anyone?

luckily i suck at golf and think it ruins a good walk.

Re: Golf Lessons Anyone?

once I know the exact fees I will let you all know again ba..

Still linking up with the coach for now.

I believe the course fee excludes the green fees, so have to pay the green fee urself 1...

yeah, me too.

i've even got a handicap - mental handicap...

Re: Golf Lessons Anyone?

Question

Even if i go with a member of a country club, still need license and pay green fees?

Re: Golf Lessons Anyone?

sorry desmond, OT'd your thread...

jokes aside, you've got to find out more before you sign-up.

hidden costs include the 9-holes that you'd have to play at the end of your lessons before you get your PC, rental of clubs, etc...

but you're getting quite a good rate, especially if he's aussie - just make sure that he's not a horsin king (like phil). the one i got paid a lot more attention to the girls than the guys.

but how long it the lesson? if it's one hour, hardly enough time for 6 people. you'd only be getting an average of about 10 minutes of his time! and that is if he's hard working... can you imagine how much he is making? $250 x 6? that's $1500 for an hour's work! i might want to change jobs...

try to wrangle at least 1.5-2hrs out of it.

have fun!

of course!

you will not need license if you've got a handicap (and i'm not talking about the mental type, which i'm sure you do) :lol2:

you'd still need to pay green fees as a guest, and caddy fees, and buggy fees.

depends on which country club, and depends on whether your client or supplier is bringing you in... :nehnehhh:

Re: Golf Lessons Anyone?

i like golf ! after 20 lesson i did not continue practising..
still wondering why hit the ball so far & go search for it...
but business or leisure point of view is a great sport esp. see Tiger wood play.
end of personal view, Des u shld go learn it..

Re: Golf Lessons Anyone?

Haha...

Thanx for all the tips.
I am quite sure one of the coach is a HORSING KING LOL. But another 1 is more serious and professional. Maybe I could request that.

Hour wise he charge by session, not per hour. so sometimes the session can take to 2h etc its ok I remember. The last lesson at a full range will be i think like 6-7hours?

Actually, to me I don't need to play Golf to a PROFESSIONAL level. Just getting the hang of it and leisure purposes so it's more of getting the license...

Gonna check out the exact rate again then tell you all about it ba.

Meanwhile, any tips or questions I should check out with the coach please feel free to tell me.

Bro. I think 250 is for 10 lessons =)

So he makes $150/hr.
Not bad lah...
still less than an ex-genius mathematician turned working girl in the UK.

one needs a license to play golf here?

Talking about the license to play Golf, some courses in Malaysia also required Golfers to have one in order to play.
Once when me and my Thai friend got invited by a supplier to play in one of courses in JB, upon checking in they asked for our handicap card (the license), I got one which was expired long time ago but they said ok can play, but my Thai friend did not have any handicap card, then he simply pulls out a license looking card and gave it to the counter girl. Girl looked at it and also said ok can play.
While walking to the locker room to get changed, he told us that nobody in Thailand needs a stupid license to play Golf, that one he showed to the girl was his Thai driving license which was all written in Thai wakakaka... :juggle:

What if the student has zero ball sense and all he can manage are one-sq-ft divots? Still automitically get a PC at the end of 10 lessons? :lol2:

This aussie coach - his name doesn't happen to be Alan Murray does it?

He is lebelled as a "LOFT".. face of a golf club... aka "Lack Of Fcuking Talent". :laughlik:

Re: Golf Lessons Anyone?

I believe at the end of ur lessons..
U'll have to go on course for your PC test.
I think there'll be 3 holes.
A 3-par, a 4-par and lastly a 5-par.
If u can complete all 3 holes within 21 strokes (correct me if im wrong..its been a long time)..
U get ur PC!

Re: Golf Lessons Anyone?

also includes a theory test on golf etiquette.

Re: Golf Lessons Anyone?

Not Alan Murray.

Your question very extreme lol... Not very sure. But anyway, I think the course is to give u have basic knowledge, ethics, understanding of the game of golf. I dont think you need to be like damn good to get it.

Golf Experts: Have you guys seen anyone fail PC after a 10 lessson course?
