Going US. Which GPS should I get?

I am thinking of Garmin 205w US / SG map retailing at $199 but the supplier has no stock.

Any idea where can I get one? What other brand will you recommend? thanks

Thanks. I did enquire that it cost $15 usd a day. I am renting for 18 days. so it is more worth while for me to buy one in SG.

Not sure should I just buy one in USA like K mart or something since I am touching down on thanks giviing day.

If you have a Garmin that can put in SD card, you can rent a USA map SD card from the Garmin distributors, $1-2 a day. I'm going this month end, gonna rent the maps too.

I'm going with my wife and kids, 30 nov to 13 Dec, Vegas, San Diego & LA in that order. Still planning itinerary now, maybe we can catch up there! But no BMW to meet up wor.... haha!

About the rental maps, you can rent them from Navicom or Perfect Watch. If you bought your Garmin from them previously, the daily rate is lower, so go to the one that you bought your Garmin from.

I've tried SQ discount code, the price is cheaper because insurance is excluded, actual rental rate is almost the same. Maybe it's just marketing gimmick.

How about insurance (LDW, LIS, PAI, damn confused)? Any advice on this?

yea..sometimes works out to about the same...just that you gain some miles etc back and a little better treatment.

LDW i think is CDW...i will take it at 10-20bucks a day...especially if snowing...any little scratch also don't have to worry...

Ok, think I'll just pay for them, don't want to have any problems with the rental company when returning the car.

Enterprise is much cheaper then Hertz, but I read a lot of horror reviews on them, don't dare to try. Most likely just go with Hertz to be safe.
