Glare - not that glaring anymore

Just 3 months after the first glare coat for my new car its beginning to look dull. But I thought it was normal. So just today I happened to be near Sin Ming and popped by well-loved and praised car wash.

Very pro i thought those guys. After a wash they told me that the 'stuff' i have on my paintwork was badly done. Yes there were swirl marks but under a clearing examination, it confirmed that it was a bad job done. So there goes 400bucks.

Should I go back to glare or just go with these fellows at Sin Ming who seems to know what they are talking about.

Re: Glare - not that glaring anymore

I dun think Glare is in the league of S4C or even Zaino.

Re: Glare - not that glaring anymore

just an advice, i think those guys at sin ming u met might be exaggerating, did they ask u to do protection system at their place instead.
its pretty common seeing all this rara show, no doubt it might be a bad glare job done....but i dun think its that bad as they make it out to be.
sometimes its crappy seeing what ppl will do in order to get business.
thats why i prefer to polish n sealant my own car

Re: Glare - not that glaring anymore

haha chill sszone...no doubt there are rouge business owners out there, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. =)

As for glare, yes i'm one of the unlucky few who did a glare job. Well, the sealant idea sounded so enticing, but after a few heavy showers and a couple of months in between; there ain't no shine no more, not to mention some swirl marks and fine scratches.

And mind you, i did go back for a monthly wash/touch-up at a whooping 25bucks...

personally...i have bee to a few detailing shop.... i find that its not about the product gimmick that makes your car shine... its how the detailers get rid of those swirls... and minor scratches from the car....and spa for cars in my honest opinion has done the best job for my car so far :)

thanks for all the replies guys. I will get in touch with the glare people and perhaps its the branch at Ubi that is not up to standard. I will have to try other branches.

Hi bro i totally agree with you. I norally send my s-class to glare but lately their work has been very rough and sloppy.I send mine to the main branch at UBI.
I too intend to switch to SFC.

Re: Glare - not that glaring anymore

i tried a few places in the past. they will do a few very good jobs for starters and then it gets sloppy once they get acquainted with u. its worst if u are tied up with em with some stupid plan

Re: Glare - not that glaring anymore

I still swear by Zaino.... now there is this new CS thingy that is suppose to apply without buffing. Give this a try.

i've been to both the AMK autopoint and Orchard hotel carpark Glare franchisees, and sadly both are disappointing as well. Although I would say the pple at Ang Mo Kio are a little more honest than the ones they employed at Orchard Hotel, maybe it's because you get to sit there and 'supervise' while they wash/polish your car..

the orchard hotel guys returned the car with a bird poo stain still on the bumper, and no, it wasn't a stubborn stain. I cleaned it myself with water and tissue.

it's definitely someone else i'd go to after i get a fresh coat of paint..

one of the funniest thing i heard this year LOLOLOL :lol2:

Re: Glare - not that glaring anymore

There used to be a Glare franchise at Forum Shopping Mall right?

Re: Glare - not that glaring anymore

where can i find this product -Zanio you mention? SFC carries it?

They told me that nothing in the world can bond your paint work. So all the Glare claims to be is nothing but glorified sealant? Still under tropical weather will come off in a couple of months.

I've lodged an official complaint to Glare. I doubt they read their emails. So I guess its a good lesson learnt from my part from following the crowd.

Re: Glare - not that glaring anymore

Bro... try this place. Though they claim 9 mths protection, I would certainly use it at least every month. BTW, I still using Z2 for polishing and haven't venture to this new product.

CazcomP.com

I highly recommend since I had been using it for the last 5 yrs.

Re: Glare - not that glaring anymore

you very Zun. I found the thread and making the call now. cheers man

Re: Glare - not that glaring anymore

good luck, it will be chicken feet to polish your Z4 using Zaino Z2 or ZCS (kind of rhyme with witht your car).... When you sian to polish, you can ask other people to do it with a token cost... last quoted by a freelance, $30 bucks for labour. You had to supply the Zaino.
