Re: [Genuine Carbon Fibre Laminated Engine Cover]

Hi Lennon tan,

thankyou for your interest and enquiry.

We actually just modify your existing Engine cover to Genuine Carbon fibre finishes and we do not sell the engine cover itself.

For exact price quotations, you can email me the part you would like to modify and i will quote you back shortly.

regards,
Fleur

Re: [Genuine Carbon Fibre Laminated Engine Cover]

Is the laminate heat resistant or heat proof? Will it start to peel after awhile?

Re: [Genuine Carbon Fibre Laminated Engine Cover]

Hi Mracer77,

thank you for your interest and enquiry.

Our Genuine Carbon fibre is coated with a layer of heat resistant epoxy resin from Japan.

Lamination of an engine cover was a challenge and we were unsure of the extent of our heat resistant , this is the first . However, So far so good. No problems with the Carbon fibre at all. :)

You can be assured that we use Quality Genuine carbon fibre from Japan. Not prone to peels and folds etc.

Fleur

Re: [Genuine Carbon Fibre Laminated Engine Cover]

sorry for all the questions, but how long have you installed this piece in the engine compartment already? Cause if I were to consider this purchase, I need to know if it will last for 1 month, 3 months, or more than that because I drive my cars alot and that will expose the laminate even more heat, so chances of malfunction are even greater.

Re: [Genuine Carbon Fibre Laminated Engine Cover]

No prob.
:)

We have install this for abt one mth alr..

The predicted disadvantage would be the resin coating turning yellow in the long while due to the heat. For peals etc. it is quite unlikely. :screwedu:

Re: [Genuine Carbon Fibre Laminated Engine Cover]

Curious, can you do any CF parts? Not just laminates, like moulded parts if i gave you the actual part to make a mould from? Like a boat hull?

Re: [Genuine Carbon Fibre Laminated Engine Cover]

Robson,

For example, how much to do an engine cover like the one you did above?

Re: [Genuine Carbon Fibre Laminated Engine Cover]

rex7_vtec : thank you ! :cloud9: Its our duty to let the customers know any risks involved before we go ahead with orders like these :)

Phil : Hi , yes we are able to modify any existing parts to genuine carbon fibre finishes. If you mean fabricating a part given the sample. It is possible to but a min order is needed to open a mould. feel free to send me pictures of the parts you would like CF laminated or fabricated and ill quote you back shortly. :)

MRacer77: Have sent u a pm! :)

Re: [Genuine Carbon Fibre Laminated Engine Cover]

Robson very professional and honest, I like:)

Seems like u do CF lamination, not real CF right? Or u also do real one, ie if someone give u a bonnet, can u make one exactly same but in CF material:juggle:

Hi ahbengdriver,

thank you for your compliment :cloud9:

Hmmm there are actually two definitions to CF . which you have stated and both can be genuine. Carbon fibre is actualy carbon fibre filament threads that are woven into a textile (which is what we are using_, another meaning is, it is an informal term to describe Carbon fibre reinforced plastic which is, what is known to many as CF parts. (parts made entirely out of CF).

CF parts commonly used in F1 cars due to light weight property.

In our case, We do not do CF parts but we use the woven carbon fibre filament threads for beauty enhancement purposes and our Genuine Carbon fibre is imported over from Japan.

So regarding your question on fabricating a bonnet in CF, we cant do that as we do not specialise in this area instead we are able to fabricate bonnets and modify the finish to genuine Carbon fibre finishes. A min of 5 pcs is needed to open a mould.

Hope ive cleared your doubts :)

Fleur

hi lionel,

thank you! and bingo, you're right! :goodup:its flower in french.

Ok , underneath that CF Engine cover originally is a hole for air intake. So after the CF laminating it , we also modify the engine cover hole to increase the air intake to the engine area.

So basically, its just Adding some beauty enhancement to its outlook and also increasing the air intake hole size for more air intake!

hope ive cleared your doubts? :)

regards,
fleur
