gearbox failure

brus, my auto gearbox on my E36 320 juz failed me a couple of days ago... anyone of u has any suggestions or opinions for a suitable replacement. i need to make a decision by monday so its rather urgent... would appreciate any valuable inputs.

Try checking with Gwumpkus ... His gearbox failed him like a couple of months back ...

hark..i hear my name mentioned??.... looks like either re-manufactured box from PML..or recon unit...about 40% difference in prices as far asi know.. other than that, import an entire M3 transmission and shoe horn the bugger in...

other than that...well..not much other choices..i know some ppl have actually been successful in reviving their box, by changing whatever parts are spoilt/malfunctioning eg. solenoids etc... that depends on the extent of ur failure i guess...

other than that, i'm not much help any further... pm me if u need details?

try Top speed motors at pandan loop. I think they have one on the shelf. Yours is a ZF 5HP18 ? look for Ah Sing (Singh).

Try Khang's Auto Transmission Centre (KATC). They have a factory re-building trannys in woodlands - your tranny should be able to get off the shelf, and fixed with 1-2 days easily.

try prospac at woodlands/kranji. They have many scrap e36 there
