actually there's another alternative, i used to play @ st.wilfred field b4, over there u can book the big field or small field, the size of the small field is abt AH court, but the turf is artificial grass, hence, it wil be playin soccer instead of futsal. Street soccer shoes or boots r allow over there, price wise, i tink itz very reasonable, if my memory nv fails mi, 2 hrs=$ 20 or $40. This is 1 of the proper place to get the ball goin... Hope it helps.

St Wilfrid Field
Address: 3 St Wilfrid Road (317920)
Contact No: 6293 3452
Operating Hours: 7.00 am - 7.30 pm
Facilities Type: 1 Standard Soccer Field. 2 5-A-Side Soccer Field

Yup St Wilfred is cool. Only downside would be parking.

Hi everyone. just google and found this thread.
upon joining.
Sorry i dont drive a BMW but can i join in for some footie section if im welcomed?
If not i scram. -_-"

I understand the pain of finding people to play footie.
because i myself is trying to organize weekly futsal.
we usually have a team of 5.
Location will be fine with us. We are average leisure players looking for regular soccer kakis.
If booking a court is $60-$90 per hour. i dont think you want to spend time resting with just 2 teams? The ideal is at least 3 teams right? And i believe most are not in their early 20s.

hmm why not play in fico or the cage?
Issue discussed before. No one willing to book and take the risk of no one showing up. Happened before.

With outsiders, it depends on chemistry. We have played teams whom we have not met, and it was not a pleasant experience. This is a social car club, most players are 30+ to 40+, so we are playing for fun and leisure, rather than for competitive spirit. So far, most outsiders who joined us will find us too demure to play against. Very stringent rules on body checks, no tackles, really friendly games. Just have to visualise few old men playing, no rough treatment and the like. I doubt many enthusiasts love it.

Also, the idea is to mingle around, rather than fixing a team week-in-week-out. That way, rotation is at play, everyone gets to know one another....... you are more than welcome to join us, but perhaps not as a team. Show up as yourself first, get to know us first, and then see if you really could blend in and play.

Re: Futsal Players - Please Read

what a nice change. for once no body aches after game....thx for hunting this place down. i think our pitch a bit crooked? or is it my eyes? less tiring too from less impact? i prefer the size 4 low bounce ball....easier to stroke around n control...

c u guys next week! oh ya pls sign up early. very important we dun spend too much time waiting. if enuf players we can book a bigger court n play maybe 7/8 aside? adds up to the same i guess? n less waiting time...more work out.

Re: Futsal Players - Please Read

Hi guys,
Would love to join you another time, let me know the date.

I played futsal sometime ago every Monday at Kolam Ayer CC, the bookings are cheap and the courts are pretty ok. You can also try East Coast (near Mac). I do have SAFRA card but I have not try bookings before.

Let me know where to sign-up your attendance list ok.

Re: Futsal Players - Please Read

Guys, an update on the AH situation. Looks like we might have salvation after all.

On advice from Kelvin, I emailed AH to enquire and was directed to speak to their head of security.

He said there are no problems with outsiders (= companies/institutions) booking the court, and told me to email him with the following:

1) purpose of booking
2) period of booking
3) agree to abide by their regulations (NO smoking/littering)

The email is to be sent from a co's email addy and emailing of the booking is to be done on a weekly basis. He also added that if rules are broken, the group will be kicked out immediately... (hhm, sounds familiar).

So, what we need now to be reinstated...

1) somebody who hasn't sign in before regularly AND has a proper work email addy to email him*
2) if onz, for us to park, either at the A&E side, Q'way SC, Alex. Pt, or HDB lots opp. AH (for obvious reasons)
3) STRICTLY no smoking/littering (might seemed draconian to the smokers, but pls think of the 大局 and our rep as well; surely 2hrs dun smoke won't die right??)

Ok, I need a volunteer to email him. Can somebody pls step up?

Thanks.

(* once we have established the routine again, signing in can be delegated to another guy, no prob)

Re: Futsal Players - Please Read

Re: Futsal Players - Please Read

juz a suggestion....

i think if we still cant get the AH saga done, maybe can try jalan bahar fico, they have got 8 courts there compare to turf city's 4. Bookings of court on week days is much easier.... Rates r more or less the same.
