those are some nice rims. any idea on pricing?

Pricing i dunno... i would guess minimum 1000+ per rim w/o tyre. Terry should know, cos he got 1 set trafficstar.....:woowooo:

Terry wru, giv some comment pls...:lol2: Btw, HRE the nearest distributor is in Indonesia ? I remember seeing 1 forummer here got 1 set, u mean he order from Indo ?

Re: Found some nice rims

Get the HREs... they are in my opinion the best but best be prepared to fork over at least SGD1500 per rim depending on size...

Re: Found some nice rims

the 540R will cost about 8k shipped to u.... the trafficstar will cost about 4-5k.... the C20 i am not so sure but should be in the range of 6k-9k.....schmitd will cost about 6-8k as well...

the cheapest way to get HRE to singapore will be either thru indo or hong kong distributor... they will be the cheapest as they are 2nd tier after manufacturer... if u buy from singapore shop..they will have to order frm indo or hong kong as well... in the end of the day u paid more of those people's commision..

and HRE america will not entertain you if u want to buy from them....they will ask u contact ur nearest distributor..

Re: Found some nice rims

hre's are gr8 to look at ... but they have an inherrent design flaw (at least on some models) ...

if u look at the cross section of the rim, it is dipped in the centre where the air tube goes in ... as a result, when it's dry, no prob. when it's wet, u get some seriously scary steering wheel shake between 120-18kmph ...

Re: Found some nice rims

Hey Maxpower, can u explain further? It seems quite interesteing now that u mention it! Always thought HREs are the last word in design and quality!

Chim....can explain further :singsing:

Re: Found some nice rims

yes...theres some problem with some of the HRE designs... in some models..the centre actually traps water....

HRE arent exactly light...execpt maybe for the C series...

the reason people buy HRE is for the bling factor..and their quality is superb and they dont lose their resale value...HRE is like the rolex of rims... dont exactly have the best function or movement... but its famous and well known for its quality..

Re: Found some nice rims

Terry, I agree with u, HREs are definitely up there with DPEs and Iforged in terms of Bling!

Re: Found some nice rims

my dream rim is the 943R... till now...still cant afford it...the 9 series cost a bomb

i hv a set of hre's on my 996tt, so i'm commenting from personal experience here ...

like i mentioned earlier, the air tube enters the rim about the middle of the rim. the centre of the rim (on a cross-section) is lower than the rest. as a result, it accumulates water when raining and cannot drain. at speeds of 120-180kmph, this imbalance caused by water accumulation makes the steering wheel vibrate excessively (and dangerously, in my opinion). once the water is gone, everything's back to normal.

would i buy another hre? probably not, given my experience with it. it rains here all the time. but then agn, you don't do those speeds here ...

:)

of course, travelling up north in th rain is hell with these hre's ... need to keep pulling in to a gas station to mop up the water so you can keep up with the group !!!

hope this helps ...

Re: Found some nice rims

I see! I don't know if HRE has noticed this problem as well? Would be good to feedback to them! And its true that we don't usually hit that kind of speed in the rain IN singapore!

Cheers!

Re: Found some nice rims

i wonder if that problems happens in the 9 series... i know their 5R series has this problem... but not the 5 series with step lip....
