Forgot to release handbrake when driving for auto transmission F30

I forgot to release the handbrake today and drove for a good 10km then I realized it. What would be the consequences?

I thought handbrake not release and start to drive warning will sound.

Had tis experience too but realised after a few hundred meters. From then on, seldom use handbrake unless on slope.

There's warning sound, but it goes off for a while..

And there's burning smell around the rear tyre area..

Just wondering what does the handbrake locks..why is the vehicle even moving when the handbrake is engaged?

Never used hand brakes in my life......so never bothered with it.

And its not suppose to stop a vehicle. But you could use it for a drift ......

Well, you have just worn out your real brake especially the disc.

If37 is probably right. From what I know hand brake causes your rear brakes to be constantly engaged.

Ic, so the handbrakes has got to do with the rear brakes, no wonder there's a strong burning smell from the rear wheels..

As of today, after a morning drive, everything were normal, so i guess everything is fine..

Don't worry, shouldn't affect your car much except for early replacement of rear brake pads and brake discs.

Hand brakes don't use the rear disc or pads .....
