Fly wheel seal oil leak

Was told i have tis problem. Mines a 120i convertible. It will cost S$950 for labour. $90 +$90+$90 for spare parts. Will take 3 days to do the job..
How true is that?
Checked with another workshop..its $400 for labour plus $50 for parts..
Another guy on tis forum did it in msia..its ringit 200 plus sin 22 for parts..
So much difference n im confused!

ask the $950 labour to fly kite,
the 400 labour plus $50 for parts sounds about right. (the whole transmission needs to be taken down)
malaysia is ok if your comfortable going in.

if your on N46 engine, do change the torque converter seal when having this flywheel oil seal aka rear main oil seal changed.
the torque converter seal cost only $10+ and since the transmission is taken down already, additional labour is almost zero to do it.

With regards to workshop, it is like wear clothes. Look for something that you are comfortable with.

I presumed you are not a technical person. It will be difficult for you to compare price unless you discuss in details with ws what is the work required.

I nvr compare price as i only stick to 1 i m comfortable with.

Lastly, it is important to built relationship with ws & get comfortable with the work performed. In case of emergency, u know that u can always rely on them to sort it out for you.
