Fiat 500 old and new

Re: Fiat 500 old and new

I am actually thinking of heading down to check it out in the next few days! Seems like a real nice, cute car for the wifey. :)

Re: Fiat 500 old and new

here's my take on the car when i went down last weekend

One word, dissapointed. Not totally with the car, but also with the distributor... Reaching the showroom, 3 500s were present, one in icky yellow, one if gay lavender with some "kiss kiss lipstick stickers" on the bonnet and another in a more decent red but with a butt ugly sticker running along the side. All 3 cars did not seem have any aesthetic options spec-ed out.

Its quite obvious the dealers are targeting FEMALE buyers. which is plain dumb. They should at least have 1 car there that's properly spec-ed up to show it's potential.. what a lousy way to show the car. At least have 1 PROPER looking one.....

BUT, looked thru all 3 and sat in them, the design of the dash is beautiful and everything is all good except for the plastics used for the center console, very hard and harsh. the steering wheel feels good tho, but the overall quality feel is just not there sadly, it's cheaper den the MINI and it shows. One word of advise to them, if u wanna advertise your car as being cheaper den the competition, make sure ur quality at least matches them.. otherwise, it defeats the purpose... the interior materials SHOW why it is cheaper. rear room is tight but ppl buying this car won't car, so it's not a big deal.

Only thing i'm really disapointed with is the interior quality, i wish it was better. it just doesn't have the quality feel of the MINI, even he MINI One feels better made.

If there was a better spec-ed car, it could have been saved with it's exterior design, but as all 3 were not very pretty to look at... (wtf, who chose those colors... geeez, not even a WHITE one).

I really really really wanted to love the car, i really did... sadly, i don't anymore... it's cheaper den the MINI and you can see why...

Clearly targeting (only) female drivers with the car just totally turned me off

SG's car...

Re: Fiat 500 old and new

Thanks for the write-up, Louis! Guess I'll keep it in mind when I do head down and check out the cars.

Re: Fiat 500 old and new

Like every other Italian car, you buy it for its 'character'...whatever that means.
