Feedback

Just a feedback, under the classified thread splitting into 1 series, 3 series, 5 series, etc .. is not working well at least for me. If I have an item for sale that fits all models, I don't know which section should I post? I still prefer the old way of classified thread.

What you guys think?

Re: Feedback

Hi Viper Warrior,

Thanks for bringing this up.

I think it's clear why we decided to split up the classifieds into so many sections - it makes browsing for parts easier, makes owners of specific models who are looking for parts easier, and also - allows sellers to stay in the market longer for a particular product that is for that specific model.

We've also based our findings based on our traffic behaviour from Google Analytics (and finding that most web users were going to pages 2,3 and 4 before totally completely stopping searching.

Also, members can stop guessing - "Which model are you referring to when you are selling a 3 Series XXX part - (F30?) (E90?) (E46???).

With every change we make - it's definitely going to affect someone.

Now - for your case - for a one-size-fits all category, we can create a BMW General forums Classifieds where the item can fit into all of the models (not sure what kind of item it is, but you get my point).

Right now, that forum is BMW Modifications, BMW Parts & Accessories (but the model specific forums are 'hiding it' by clumping at the top) I think I know how to fix your issue, but let me do some housekeeping first. We'll sort this out.

Re: Feedback

hi. the current classified system is not working for me as well. it is quite a hassle to look across all subforums when in the past, it was simple and clear cut in the main forum.

and as for google analytics throwing out results that people stopped at pages 2,3,4: for me its because i browse the forum every one to two days, so the most updated threads only trail back to page 4 for instance. why would i go to pages 10,11,12 which are really old threads that i've seen or whose items are probably off the market?

just my 2 cents worth.
