Feedback on Reinhold remote roof module

Hi all

Found an old 2007 thread on this which is closed, hence the new topic.

Can I seek feedback from drivers with the Reinhold module(s) installed on their rides, especially E85 Z4?

- Remote roof module: Does it also wind up the windows once the roof is closed? Or need to wind up windows first before exiting the car?

- "One touch" module: Does it allow the roof to be operated when the car is moving (at slow speeds)?

The windows will wind up by itself when the roof is closed..........

Just checked that installation alone by local workshop is quite ex.

Anyone DIY this one before? Saw elsewhere that another forummer DIY the installation of the SmartTOP module.

It's not that difficult. It will take you about 1-2 hours.

Ship it in. Any site sponsor workshop should be able to do this.

I eventually installed the GapTech RCH+, see here: gap-Tech.co.uk. BMW Z4 Remote Control Hood

There are groupbuys with attractive discounts from time to time at z4-forum.com.

After shipping it in, I had BOSS install it for a smallish fee.

I've been using it for over a year and it works flawlessly. The only problems are (i) short remote range (but that's the car's fault, not the module's) and (ii) can't open/close on the move.

SmartTOP just released a roof control module for E85 too, and you may wish to check that one out.

+1 on the gap tech. 6 mths no issue. Self instal about two hours

there was recent second round interest for group buy for e89 too

if u check for e89 compaitabilty u can prob add 6 more forumers
