FC for E60 520i 2004

Hi all

just wondering what is your FC( fuel consumption) for E60 520i 2004? I just bought the car and the mileage show around 16.5l/100km. Is it normal? It seems to drink very fast also. After a day of driving , i used up a quarter tank! It is quite scary.

btw i m using 18 inches 245/40R18 rims. M6 replica.
Please share your experiences.

not normal...when i collected my 530i....i whacked it and it ran at 15.5/100km....
now my car lost some weight in the exhaust area n its like 12/100km. anyway calculate it manually..dun rely on the computer in the car pls.

I just bought mine 3 weeks ago ..... finished 2 tanks and the consumption for the first tank read 12.1l/100km and the second tank came in at 13.0l/100km.

This is expected as the first tank was mainly used on expressway cruising and the second was mainly city driving.

Has had my car for 2.5 years liao. Computer says average 11.9L/100Km. Manual calculation also yields similar FC. Commute daily between Tampines and Raffles Place area, mostly highway driving, which recently had also slowed down tremendously during peak hours.

i m still doing about 13.5 to 14l/100km . manual calculation about the same. why am i experiencing such high fc? may i know what type of rims and tyres u guys are using?

and can we use ron95 for this car?

I run on 95 Esso, just changed to RFT on 17" rims and 225/55/R17 RFT. I average 11.9l/100km last week.

Try running RON98.... Currently using Mobil.... try filling up at least two tanks and monitor the comsumption.... I'm running on 19" and just this last week, about running empty.... Consumption reads 9km/l.....

mine oh mine.. i have used ron98 shell and now 2 tanks of ron 98 caltex. shell did 6.5km/l and the 2 tanks of caltex was 7.5km/l .. why is my consumption so high.. and i m using 18 inch rims onli.. even your 19 inch can do better than mine

1. wats yr tyre pressure? increasing it would help..u can pump 245kpa for your 18inch.
2. Next, try putting in some STP injector cleaner into your tank before u pump. get the most expensive one, its ard $25, forgot the exact name.
3. What engine oil u using? maybe its too thick. running a thinner oil will give better FC.
4. Lighten yr car. take out the golf clubs , from the boot if u have any.

ya stable. been running on it for years..lotsa pple on 18, 19 had to increase their tyre pressures from stock values.

for yr next oil change, try using this

spare tyre dun need to take out, unless u got the AIRMAN, etc as a backup...
i took out mine though..feels lighter
