Hello, anyone driving face lifted E90?? ANy problem with the GPS???

Hi Audio086, GPS function is working fine. But I get a lot of feedback noise when I make calls using Bluetooth function on Garmin. Do you face that same problem?

Re: Face lifted E90

Hi,

Yet to try the bluetooth. GPS dont work in tunnels and multistory carpark for me.

Fantic, do you attach an external mic as the GPS set is pretty far away from the driver?

Re: Face lifted E90

Hi Yasanaki,

Yeah the GPS reception isn't very good under shelter.

Nope I have not tried attaching an external mic. Does that help to minimize the feedback noise?

Re: Face lifted E90

not too sure if the mic helps.

Very little info on this system - Garmin 760.
In fact i cant find the mic in singapore too. lol

Re: Face lifted E90

Yeah I've been trying to search on the internet for solutions but couldn't find anything useful.
Might not be the GPS-driver distance issue since there were comments that interference noises are heard not only for Bluetooth but also before the GPS voice-assist speaks.

Re: Face lifted E90

I'm also having the interference when using the bluetooth function. If you guys find any way to eliminate that pls post, thanks

Re: Face lifted E90

I also have the same problem. Actually thought of going back to PML and ask for a resolution (when free).
Under shelter, i guess pretty common as my previous GPS also have the same problem.
If there are interference when using the bluetooth, it's still acceptable but interference sound appears when giving direction i think cannot accept lah.....
Not much experience with other makes and models of GPS, maybe this is common?

Re: Face lifted E90

Sorie, don't know what you mean. But for me for both GPS giving instructions and Bluetooth, just a little bit of "buzz" or "zzzzzzz" For me, it is just slight background sounds.. but the GPS instructions thru the car speaker is fine. Especially for Bluetooth - very clear and concise.... mine also facelifted E90

I can live with mine...

Re: Face lifted E90

I can live with the interference sound but of cos if there is a way to reduce or eliminate the sound i do not mind trying. :yummie:

Re: Face lifted E90

Hi...

To be fair to the Garmin system, it does produces a clear voice (be it the GPS instructions or phone). Just that at the background there is an interference sound. Frankly, i do not know if that is a norm or wiring issue or speaker problem.
So was just thinking maybe can ask PML if there is any way to eliminate the "noise".

Re: Face lifted E90

I recently installed the BMW portable Nav system on my E93 325.
So far, GPS instructions and bluetooth sounds quite clear to me.
No issues with it on my side.

Re: Face lifted E90

Yep the usual buzzing background noise.
BTW I have swapped the map with malfreemaps.
Heaps better & more current.

Re: Face lifted E90

hi fanatic,

Its a simple straight forward swap of the
SD card. Just down load the map fr malfree
pop out the sd card fr the nuvi 710(bmw)
slide it the new one & ur ready to go.

Re: Face lifted E90

Sorry backtrack one step, in ur new SD card
u have to create a new folder, name it: Garmin.
Then download the intended map, drag it
into the Garmin folder, finally ur read to go.

Re: Face lifted E90

must use new SD card ? can backup the old map from the existing SD card and save the malsing map into the same folder called Garmin

Re: Face lifted E90

Hi Tribeca & wt_know,

Thanks for the info.

So I guess for either method (new or existing SD card), I can only save one map in the Garmin folder ...

Thought maybe can have 2 different sets of maps to choose from in a single SD card.

Re: Face lifted E90

Hi Fantic,

I have interference noise from GPS (before direction was given) and blue tooth. Has PML helped anyone to solve this problem??
