F30 Right Rear Suspension

Hey guys,

I've never really go observe the F30's suspension on all four tyres before but i notice that the right rear ride height seems to be lower by quarter of an inch compared to the left rear ride height.

Have anyone faced this issue before? Not too sure is this a normal thing. Would appreciate some feedbacks.

Thanks!

The battery at the rear right car boot. It's normal for BMW car.

Re: F30 Right Rear Suspension

Has been higher on one side for almost every series for the 20 years ...... Maybe even more .....

Re: F30 Right Rear Suspension

BMW is originally designed as a left hand drive car and the lower right is to balance with the lower left side when the driver's weight is included in the calculation. Unfortunately BMW don't bother to change it around for right hand drive version and this lower right suspension actually makes it worse when a driver sits in. One way to correct this imbalance is to send your car to a workshop that can do a good corner alignment.

Re: F30 Right Rear Suspension

Oh i thought its due to the heavier fuel tank with fuel thus lower at that side

Re: F30 Right Rear Suspension

Re: F30 Right Rear Suspension

Maybe should change to coilovers or get someone weighing 150kg as a passenger ....

Haha !

Re: F30 Right Rear Suspension

Yeah, very common "complaint" about BMW being lower on one side. RHD compounding by adding steering column, pedals, etc on right side creating more weight. Annoying to me too...

Re: F30 Right Rear Suspension

so common that BMW AG dont give a shit as the largest 2 markets usa and china are LHD including europe except UK

Can't agree more. What so difficult for BMW to adjust the bias when they can do a RHD version... Coz I like EDC feature else would have replaced with coilovers long time ago.
