F30 adaptive M suspension or no?

Hi Bros,

Have collected my ride (second hand) a couple of months back and have been loving the drive ever since!

Got one thing that has been bugging me which hope to have some advice from senior bros here .

When I shift to sports mode, my ride stiffens up. But from what I understand and read about adaptive M suspension , you can tune to have the ride stiffen and still drive under comfort mode from the iDrive function right. I do not have that function which gets me puzzled.

So what suspension am I on then? Or is it a software update needed to enable my dampers to stiffen at comfort level?

Thanks in advance!

Oh just to add, it's not a butt feel that suspension stiffens. The console screen does show that the chassis stiffens with the red colored indication on it.

Also had gotten my friend to test drive on comfort and sports setting . Sports setting does stiffen.

Thanks! :)

Isn't DDC standard for your ride in that case and you can tweak the settings via idrive ?

Ya that's the problem . I can't tweak it . When I go to sports mode , it only shows visuals that's ride stiffens , but no other options such as drive train option etc unlike my friends 335i F30.

So that's the puzzling thing haha .

I'm sure I'm not on the passive m performance suspension as comfort mode really feels as though I'm riding on a cloud haha .

Just not sure if mine is adaptive M suspension . It adapts on sports mode but that's it and cannot be configured further .

F30 adaptive M suspension or no?

Hmm ok .

Managed to get a hold of my SE and enquired about this .

Ok confirm that it's Adaptive M suspension . But because it's 328i, I do not have the settings to configure further (for eg. Comfort mode with stiffened suspension) as compared to the 335i.

Only the *35i and M series models can further configure the suspension settings.

For the *28i models, Only have Comfort mode with a soft suspension. Activating Sports and Sports + mode will stiffen up suspension automatically.

Thanks red bean bun and seraph blade for your earlier inputs man!

Most likely your SE smoke you. Even 335 adaptive-m cannot change the suspension settings without going into Sport or Sport+. 5er have a separate rocker button that you can directly change the suspension settings without changing the drive mode.

If you do have Adaptive M, you will be able to configure whether your "Sport" mode affect suspension only, drivetrain only, or both.

Comfort mode as your are talking about above simply means the car still rev normally (change gear at
